WhatsApp is rolling out a new update for Android through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing its version to 2.24.14.13. With this update, an optional feature is being worked on that will allow users to generate AI-generated images of themselves using Meta AI.
Creating Personal Images with Meta AI
WhatsApp previously announced that it is working on a feature to select the Meta AI Llama model. In future AI interactions, users will be able to choose the default Llama 3-70B model or the advanced Llama 3-405B model, which can handle more complex queries.
Now WhatsApp is taking a new step to further personalize the user experience with Meta AI.
With the 2.24.14.13 beta update for Android, WhatsApp announced that it is working on a feature that will allow users to create AI-powered images of themselves using Meta AI.
By taking a single set of photos and having them analyzed, users will be able to create AI images that accurately represent themselves. Once activated, users will be able to create their own images by typing “Imagine me” or using the “@Meta AI imagine me” command in other chats.
This feature is completely optional, and users will be able to make it available by manually activating it in their settings and taking setup photos.
Users will be able to delete setup photos at any time, thus protecting their privacy. Meta AI cannot read other messages and these commands are processed separately. WhatsApp has stated that this feature is under development and will be available to users in a future update.
