Ara Guler’s Life Becomes A Movie
The life of legendary photojournalist Ara Guler is transferred to the silver screen.
The life of Turkey’s most famous photographer Ara Güler becomes a movie. Aren Perdeci and Ela Almayanac, the director duo who filmed the life of photojournalist Ara Güler, who made the most iconic photographs of the 20th century, from Pablo Picasso to Winston Churchill.
Kara Kedi Film Company will undertake the production of the biographical project undertaken by Doğuş Group, owner of the Ara Güler Archive and Research Center and the Ara Güler Museum.
It is not yet known who will play Ara Guler in the movie
Ara Güler worked at this agency for many years after the famous photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson, the founding partner of Magnum photography agency, registered him.
Güler, who passed away in 2018, gained fame with her old Istanbul photographs that earned her the nickname “The Eye of Istanbul”, as well as documenting the most important figures of the 20th century.
