According to information from Wabetainfo, WhatsApp is working on a feature that allows you to respond to status updates using an avatar. The latest update, WhatsApp for Android beta 2.23.18.9, shows that WhatsApp is planning to bring this avatar reply feature in a future app update.
According to the source, the feature is still being worked on and unlike most other WhatsApp betas, it is not yet widely available to testers.
