WHAT ARE THE EUROPEAN GAMES?
The European Games are the continent’s largest Olympic event, held every 4 years, following a decision taken by the European Olympic Committee (EOC) in 2012.
It became the fifth continental Olympic organization after the Asian, Pan-American, African and Pacific Games, so that every continent in the world has its own Olympics. From the first day of its organization, it attracted the attention of all European countries and athletes from all continents took part in the Games.
All 50 European countries (the United Kingdom is participating under one flag) are present at the Games.
NOMINATION AND ELECTION PROCESS
The EOC starts the process by sending an invitation letter to each member country committee. Candidate countries submit their requests to the EOC
Necessary inspections are carried out by the names assigned by the committee. After the nominations are discussed at the EOC General Assembly, the host is selected.
