Why did X need to open a representative office in Turkey?

According to this new development announced by the Minister of Transportation Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, X opened a representative office in our country and appointed a representative to this representative office.

According to the issue that came to the agenda in the parliament in the past weeks, if X did not open a representative office within the allocated period, band narrowing would be applied to X in our country. Until this stage, there was an advertising ban for X in our country for about a few months.

With X finally opening a representative office and appointing a representative, there is no reason for any penalty. Minister of Transportation Abduılkadir Uraloğlu conveyed the developments on the subject with the following statements:

“They could not appoint a representative, but we had communication. We recently imposed an advertising ban. It was relatively effective. It was also on the agenda in the previous cabinet. We decided to narrow the band and notified them. Social media platform X opened a representative office in Turkey.”
