Candidates from 34 political parties as well as independent candidates will compete in Sunday’s local elections.
Around 61 million voters will cast their ballots
More than 206 thousand ballot boxes will be set up across the country. 61 million 441 thousand 882 voters will vote.
Mayors of 30 metropolitan cities, 51 provinces, 973 districts and 390 towns and 50 thousand 336 mukhtars will be elected.
Election equipment ready
Material bags containing election tools and equipment to be delivered to the chairmen of the ballot box committees have been prepared.
In villages, neighborhoods and towns outside the provincial and district centers, the material bags will be delivered to the chairmen of the ballot box committees tomorrow. Training activities for election officials will be completed.
The process of reproducing the finalized voter lists of detainees and those convicted of negligent crimes will also be completed tomorrow.

In provincial and district centers, the district election board presidencies will deliver the material bags to the assigned building supervisors at 05.00 on the polling day.
The building supervisors will take these bags to the polling stations in vehicles provided by the district election board presidencies and give them to the chairmen of the polling committees in return for a report.
In places where no building supervisors are assigned, the material bags will be delivered to the chairmen of the polling committees on the voting day by the heads of the district election board.
