Street Fighter Movie And TV Series Rights Purchased
Collaborating with many major movie and TV series companies, Legendary Entertainment now owns the movie and TV series rights to Capcom’s famous fighting series.
Recently, we have started to see famous game series very often on television and in cinemas. In addition to the very successful and resounding ones such as The Last Of Us and Arcane, we also watched unsuccessful works such as The Witcher: Blood Origin and Assassin’s Creed. Capcom detonated a bomb shortly before the release of The Super Mario Bros., one of Nintendo’s most famous series.
Movie and TV rights to the Street Fighter franchise were acquired by Legendary Entertainment.
It has been learned that Legendary Entertainment, which has taken part in the production of many films such as Batman Begins, Dune, and Enola Holmes in the past, owns the film and TV series rights of the Street Fighter series. All projects in the producer company, which stepped into the video game world with the movie Detective Pikachu, will be developed together with Capcom.
The series started to appear in the world of cinema after entering the game world and being loved. The series, which includes animated films and cartoons, was also brought to the cinema in the mid-90s.
The first Live-Action movie of the same name, starring the famous actor Jean-Claude Van Damme, was released in 1994. The last Live-Action movie of the series, which had sequels but was not very successful, was Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, which was released in 2009.
SF VI, the last step of the series, will meet with the players on June 2, 2023.
The game, which will be released on all current platforms except Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, is available for pre-order.
