Pençe-Kilit martyrs sent to their hometowns

The funerals of 6 soldiers who were martyred in the clash with terrorists yesterday in the Pençe-Kilit region were sent to their hometowns with a ceremony attended by Yaşar Güler, Minister of National Defense in Şırnak.

A ceremony was held at the 23rd Infantry Division Command in Şırnak for Infantry Specialist Sergeant Abdülkadir İyem (25), Infantry Specialist Sergeant Ahmet Arslan (24), Infantry Contracted Private Cebrail Dündar (25), Infantry Contracted Private Semih Yılmaz (23), Infantry Contracted Private Kemal Aslan (24) and Infantry Contracted Private Enis Budak (22) who were martyred in a clash with terrorists trying to infiltrate the base area in the Claw-Kilit operation zone in northern Iraq.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Governor Cevdet Atay, Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak, Commander of Land Forces General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Commander of Naval Forces Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, Commander of Air Forces General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu, AK Party Şırnak MP Arslan Tatar, Mayor Mehmet Yarka, representatives of public institutions and comrades-in-arms of the martyrs.

After the bodies of the martyrs were brought to the ceremony area, their biographies were read.

Following the prayers, the body of Martyr Infantry Specialist Sergeant Abdulkadir İyem was taken to Gaziantep, the body of Martyr Infantry Specialist Sergeant Ahmet Arslan to Yozgat, the body of Martyr Infantry Contracted Private Cebrail Dündar to Kızıltepe district of Mardin, the body of Martyr Infantry Contracted Private Enis Budak to Manisa, the body of Martyr Infantry Contracted Private Kemal Aslan to Elazığ and the body of Martyr Infantry Contracted Private Semih Yılmaz to Çorum.
