In Konya, The Suspect Who Entered The Market Of A Gas Station With A Toy Gun And Extorted 600 Thousand Liras From The Cash Register And 2 People Who Helped Him Were Arrested.

The masked suspect, who entered the market of the fuel station on Çakırlı Street in Musalla Bağları Neighborhood on the night of April 17 disguised as a customer, told the employee that he wanted to buy something.

Realizing that the suspect was heading towards the cash register, the market employee tried to intervene. The suspect then pointed the pistol hidden in his pocket at the employee and fled with 600 thousand liras in the cash register.

The Asayish Branch Directorate Extortion Bureau teams, who came to the area upon a tip-off, monitored hundreds of hours of footage from the surrounding security cameras and the City Security Management System (KGYS).

It was determined that the suspect fled on a motorcycle after the extortion incident, left the motorcycle on the side of the road, burned the clothes he was wearing, and then got into a car that came to pick him up.

One Of The Suspects Turned Out To Be A Gas Station Employee

The teams took action and detained Mustafa B., a suspect with 3 criminal records, and Habil Ali Ç. and Mehmet G., who came to pick him up by car.

The investigation revealed that Habil Ali Ç., who had 13 criminal records, was an employee of the gas station. Mehmet G., who has 3 criminal records, is a car wash owner and Mustafa B. works for him. It was also determined that the gun used in the incident was a toy.

Suspects Arrested

It was revealed that Habil Ali Ç. and Mehmet G. were shopping at a different gas station and waiting in front of the cameras in order to give the impression that they were not involved in the extortion.

In their first statements, the suspects said that they were friends, Mustafa B. needed money for his upcoming wedding and they planned to share the extortion money between them.

The suspects were taken to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station and arrested.
