Canakkale Wars Gelibolu Ruins is located in the northwest of the Marmara Region, within the borders of Canakkale province. Most of them are within the borders of Eceabat district. There are many martyrdoms, cemeteries, museums and monuments within the boundaries of the Historic Area, which covers an area of ​​33.444 hectares. Eceabat is connected to Canakkale Province in the south of the Gelibolu Peninsula. The district is surrounded by the Dardanelles Strait from the east and the Aegean Sea from the west and south. It is one of the transition points where the Asian and European continents separate from each other. The most visited battlefield in Turkey is the Historic Site, located within the borders of Canakkale province. During the First World War, one of the biggest wars between the Allied Powers and the Ottoman Empire was the Battle of Gelibolu.

Historical buildings such as 138 civil architecture examples, 49 monuments, 50 Turkish martyrdoms, 29 Turkish monuments and inscriptions, 34 foreign cemeteries and monuments, castles and bastions in the region constitute a great potential for faith tourism. A wide variety of “natural areas and monuments” include beaches, coves, mixed groves with Mediterranean scrub (maquis), stunning geological and geomorphological formations, and a salt lake (Suvla).
