Various details have emerged in Intel’s Meteor Lake processor architecture, showing that Windows 12 is on the way. Now the system requirements of the new operating system have started to become clear.

The Windows 11 operating system, which is a more developed version of Windows 10, was launched in 2021.

Microsoft experts started working on the next generation Windows operating system. It is stated that the new operating system, which will be called Windows 12, will be completely different and the company has set up a separate team.

Microsoft plans to abandon the infrastructure on which previous operating systems were developed in Windows 12.

The report states that Intel Meteor Lake processors, which are scheduled to be released in the last quarter of 2023, may include Windows 12 support.

Windows 12 System Requirements

System requirements for Windows 12, called “Next Valley”, are slowly starting to emerge.

It is said that the Windows 12 system requirements will be as follows:

  • TPM: TPM 2.0
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Storage: 64GB of storage
  • Video card: DirectX 12 with WDDM 2.0 driver
  • Processor: 1 (GHz) or faster 64-bit with 2 or more cores

It should be noted that these are not official requirements and system requirements may change in the future.

Windows 12 may be released in 2024

Although Microsoft does not make any statement about Windows 12, the new operating system is expected to be released in 2024.

Experts say that Windows 10 support will continue until 2025, and this date for Windows 11 is not yet known.

Therefore, we can say that Windows 12 will not arrive before 2024.
