Muharrem Ince Life

Muharrem İnce is a Turkish politician, educator and economist. Born in 1964 in Trabzonlu village in Yalova, İnce grew up in a simple family. His father was a farmer and his mother was a housewife. He completed his primary and secondary education in Yalova. Later, he studied economics at the university he attended and completed his master’s degree.

He started his political career in 1995 from SHP. Since then, he has continued his political life in CHP, DSP, ÖDP and CHP again. He entered the parliament for the first time in 2002 as CHP Yalova Deputy. Afterwards, he was elected as Yalova MP in the general elections in 2007 and 2011. In 2015, he participated in the elections as the CHP’s presidential candidate.

Muharrem İnce has held important positions within the CHP. In 2009, he was elected as Deputy Chairman and in 2010 as Deputy Secretary General. He also became CHP Group Deputy Chairman in 2013.

Continuing his political life in the CHP, İnce is a controversial figure within the party. In 2018, he announced his candidacy for the Extraordinary Assembly and challenged Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. In the election, Kılıçdaroğlu retained his seat as the chairman and İnce took the second place with 790 votes at the congress.

Muharrem İnce holds left-wing political views. Defined as a “reformer” within the CHP, İnce advocates reformist ideas within the party. During his election campaigns, İnce brings up Turkey’s problems with secularism, democracy and freedoms and proposes solutions.

Ince is as noteworthy for his education as he is for his political life. After completing his master’s degree at Marmara University, İnce worked as a teacher for a while and continues to teach at İMKB Anatolian High School in Altınova, Yalova. He is also actively involved in many civil society organizations.

In conclusion, Muharrem İnce is an important figure in Turkish political life. Ince, who advocates reformist views especially within the CHP, brings Turkey’s problems to the agenda and offers suggestions for solutions. In addition to his political life, İnce, whose educational life is also successful, also has professions such as teaching.

Founded The Memleket Party

Before leaving the CHP, Muharrem İnce launched a political movement called “Memleket Movement in a Thousand Days” in Sivas on September 4, 2020, the anniversary of the Sivas Congress.

On December 8, 2020, he announced that he would leave the CHP and the Memleket Movement would become a party.

A few months later, on February 8, 2021, he officially left the CHP and founded the Memleket Party on May 17, 2021.

Muharrem İnce has been the chairman of the Memleket Party since its foundation.
