SAT or known as Scholastic Aptitude Test, is an exam made for students who would like to continue their studies in the United States of America. But being made for students who want to study in The USA doesn’t mean that it isn’t accepted in other countries’ universities. A lot of universities around the globe accept students with SAT exam results. One of these countries is Turkey, that’s why all foreign candidates who would like to study an associate or bachelor’s degree in Turkey must have some info about this exam.

Any high school graduate or student can apply to SAT, but in order to be able to apply to a university in Turkey Using the SAT results the candidates must fulfill some conditions.

These are:

  • Being a foreign national,
  • Being a holder of a blue card,
  • Dual national with Turkish Citizenship,
  • Being a Turkish Citizen who completed their high school education in any foreign country aside from Northern Cyprus,
  • Being a Northern Cypriot who live and completed their high school education in Northern Cyprus and have their GCE AL results,

If any of these conditions apply to the candidate then the candidate is eligible for applying to universities in Turkey with their SAT results.

Most of Turkish universities accept students with both SAT and YOS exams, but a few universities would only accept with SAT and Some would only accept with YOS. SAT Exam Questions

SAT deviates into a lot of exam. The first is SAT I, which consists of two parts mathematics and English reading and writing, there is also an optional essay part. For the mathematics part it contains basic mathematics like algebra and problem solving and it provides and introduction to advanced mathematics also, a few basic geometry questions is included in the mathematics part. For the English part it measures the reading and writing skill. The most important part about the English section is understanding the topic, providing an evidence – based argument.

The Essay part, requires the candidates to write about a topic from a few given to choose. The Essay is evaluated based on language usage skills and the author building an argument using evidence to persuade the audience.

The Essay part is optional, and the candidates should state their desire while applying to the exam since it has extra fees. SAT II or known as SAT Subject test consists of a specific subject. Based on the need of the candidates they may choose up to three subjects in one time. And these subjects are like Math I, Math II, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History and many more.

SAT Passing Grade

There is no passing grade for SAT, yet every section is evaluated between 200 – 800. Since SAT I consists of two parts its evaluation is between 400 – 1600. In order to apply to a Turkish University using SAT results the candidate must earn at least a score of 1000 – 1350 point. And this rule may differ from a university to another, that’s why checking the website of the university that you would like to apply to would be the most useful option for you.

SAT Applications and Exam Dates 2021

SAT I

Application Date: 8TH of April 2021 until 23:59 (9th of April 2021 until 6:59 Turkey’s local time)

Exam Date: 8th of May 2021 (Exam hour will be written on the exam’s admission ticket according to the country’s local time)

SAT II

Application Date: 8TH of April 2021 until 23:59 (9th of April 2021 until 6:59 Turkey’s local time)

Exam Date: 8th of May 2021 (Exam hour will be written on the exam’s admission ticket according to the country’s local time)

Application Date: 21st of April 2021 – 6th of May 2021

Exam Date: 5th of June 2021 (Exam hour will be written on the exam’s admission ticket according to the country’s local time)

SAT Exam applications are done only from the College Board website. Candidates aren’t allowed to participate in SAT I and SAT II exams done on the same day, and usually these exams are done at the same time to prevent this.
