Turkey Declared 7 Days of Mourning for Losses in the Earthquake!

President Erdoğan announced that 7 days of national mourning was declared due to the earthquakes in Kahramanmaras.

Two earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 occurred in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaras and 7.6 in the Elbistan district. After the earthquakes that caused damage in 10 cities, buildings collapsed and many people lost their lives.

ERDOĞAN ANNOUNCED: 7 DAYS OF MORNING HAS BEEN DECLARED

President Erdoğan announced that 7 days of national mourning was declared due to the earthquakes.

In a statement on his Twitter account, Erdogan said, “Seven days of national mourning has been declared due to the earthquakes that took place in our country on February 6, 2023. Our flag will be hoisted at half-mast until sunset on Sunday, February 12, 2023, in all our country and foreign representations.

After the declaration of national mourning, Turkish flags were lowered at half-mast in the Presidential Palace, public buildings and foreign representative offices across the country.

NATIONAL MORNING HAS BEEN DECLARED IN TRNC

Addressing the public, President of the TRNC Tatar announced that a national mourning was declared from today to Monday in order to share the pain of the motherland Turkey and to show the solidarity of the TRNC.

After Tatar’s statement, flags were lowered at half-mast in official institutions and organizations and private workplaces in the TRNC.

On the other hand, due to the earthquakes, the sessions to be held in the TRNC Republic Assembly this week were postponed with the agreement of all parties represented in the parliament and having a group.
