TikTok will try to boost its new online marketplace TikTok Shop by financing big discounts for the shopping season starting October 27, Bloomberg reports.
By subsidizing discounts of up to 50 percent, the social video site reportedly hopes to gain a foothold among US holiday shoppers who come to retailers like Amazon and Walmart for big discounts every November.
TikTok launched TikTok Shop in the US last week, offering sellers to ship their products using their own fulfillment centers and launching an affiliate program for creators selling products through their videos.
