Things to Know by Foreigners who Want to Study in a University in Turkey

What is the Examination for Foreign Students (YÖS) ?

Like each country and education system of the world, Turkey also must obtain a valid test scores in a special foreign students who want to study. In Turkey, Examination for Foreign Students (YÖS) measure different attributes.

YÖS has two stages, students must first pass a test called the ‘Basic Learning Skills Test’. In this test, which aims to measure the abstract thinking levels of candidates, there are English explanations besides Turkish questions in order to prevent language barriers from appearing. In the other phase, there is ‘Turkish Test’. Test purpose; Expressions written in Turkish are based on understanding, understanding and interpreting power. Having Master and Doctorate Degree in Turkey

In Turkey, master’s, doctorate, specialization in medicine or proficiency programs in arts are called post-graduate programs.

The master programs have two different types like master programs with thesis and non-thesis.

Enrollment specialization programs are carried out in university hospitals, hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health and hospitals affiliated to the Social Insurance Institution.

Foreign students applying for the graduate programs must have bachelor’s diplomas, charts showing course grades and diploma grades and references and letters of intent. The reference letter can be obtained from the instructor of the school you are graduating from, as well as from a lecturer who has already worked with your academic career. The letter of intent is written by the candidates and it is tried to be understood why they want to enter the postgraduate program. The graduate must have received the required score from any of the ALES final or international examinations for the transition.
