They Recited Azan to Put Out the Fire!

A video taken during a fire in a building in Karachi, Pakistan, created the agenda on social media. It was seen that the people of the region with their relatives inside were chanting the azan to put out the fire as the smoke rose from the building. While the people of Pakistan took ownership of the images that emerged, they argued that reciting the azan would work in difficult times.

After the fire in a multi-storey building in Karachi, Pakistan, the images of the people of the region chanting the call to prayer to extinguish the fire became the agenda on social media.

BUILDING LIVING THROUGH THEIR THINGS OUT

In the incident that took place on June 2, a fire broke out in the basement of a multi-storey building. As smoke rose from the area, most of the people living in the building rushed out.

However, it was reported that some sick and elderly people were trapped in the fire. While the people around immediately informed the fire department, the images taken while the firefighters intervened in the incident became the agenda on the social media.

THOSE WHO HAVE RELATIVES INSIDE STARTED READING AZAN

After the firefighters’ intervention, which lasted for about two and a half hours, the fire was extinguished before it spread to the upper floors and completely covered the building. However, in this process, people who had relatives inside resorted to a different method. The people around the building gathered and started to call the prayer to put out the fire.

The first person to share the video, which spread in a short time on social media, was Imtiaz Mahmood, a Pakistani living in England. Mahmood said, “Yesterday, a fire broke out in a supermarket near Jail Chowringhee in Karachi. The call to prayer was called collectively to put out the fire.”

Some people supported the people of Pakistan and argued that reciting azan would work in difficult times.
