Ege University began its academic life in March 9, 1956,  as the first university in the Aegean Region, and  the fourth university in Turkey. EU, which has colleges and vocational schools in Odemis, Bayindir, Bergama, Tire and Cesme districts, was established on a land of 3,450 decares in Bornova. The university has 10 campuses: The Main Campus, Gaziemir Campus, Karsiyaka Campus, Aliaga Campus, Bayindir Campus, Bergama Campus, Cesme Campus, Odemis Campus, Tire Kutsan Campus, Urla Campus.

The Main Campus:

Ege University Campus

Ege University Main Campus established in Bornova, at the crossroads of Izmir – Ankara – Istanbul highways. It is a campus city of 70,000 people with a modern library equipped with the latest technology, social facilities, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, indoor sports halls, sports facilities, community center, shopping center, exhibition areas and Student Village. University; In addition to its educational mission, it has to work on keeping the culture alive, making the university youth adopt, researching and developing it.  Prof.Dr. Yusuf Vardar Cultural Center, which is located in the main campus of the university, has one of the biggest indoor show halls in Izmir with its exhibition hall, 2 seminar halls with a capacity of 40 people and a capacity of 750 people.

Accommodation:

Ege University Student Village, which started its activities in the 2006-2007 academic year to meet the accommodation needs of Ege University students, offers accommodation for 1,708 students with 12 blocks. Ege University Student Village, built in accordance with the earthquake regulations, offers a peaceful, safe, comfortable, fun, healthy and contemporary environment to the students who prefer Ege University with 15 m2 single and double room alternatives. In addition to bathrooms and toilets; Basic furniture such as box-spring bed, wardrobe, desk, bookcase, shoe rack, telephone, refrigerator, central system television broadcasting and internet network access determined in accordance with the network policies of Ege University are included as standard.

Transportation:

In Bornova, Ege University Main Campus, which is established at the crossroads of Izmir – Ankara – Istanbul highways, can be reached by using various transportation vehicles such as metro, bus and minibus. Free ring services are organized within the campus. In addition, two stations of Izmir Metro are located at two different points of the university’s central campus.

Prep. School:

The institution, which was established as a department affiliated to the Rectorate in 1963, was restructured as the School of Foreign Languages in 2010. Ege University School of Foreign Languages aims to be an institution with a strong corporate culture and identity as a vision and providing language education equivalent to qualified universities in the world. Approximately 169 lecturers (2 foreign nationals) working at the college serve approximately 8000 students each year. The School of Foreign Language was audited by the international Pearson Assured Foundation in November 2013  in accordance with the principles to assure the quality of university education.

The Library:

The main library is located in the main campus. Library and Documentation Departments; It is responsible for protecting, collecting, compiling, organizing written works, and presenting materials with the feature of accessibility under all conditions for the benefit of users.
