When a businessman wanted to distribute cash aid in Sana, there was a stampede. Due to the people crushing each other in the stampede, 78 people lost their lives and more than 150 people were injured.
There was an event that resulted in a disaster in Sana’a, which was under the control of the Houthis in Yemen.
The Chairman of the Board of Sevre Hospital in Sana, Dr. Mutahhir Murshid, speaking to al-Mesirah television, said that a businessman in Sana’a had a stampede during the distribution of cash aid.
Cash Aid Disaster: 78 Dead
Murshid announced that 78 people died in the stampede and more than 150 people were injured.
Businessmen in Detention
On the other hand, Abdulhalik al-Aceri, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior in Sana, said that the aid work in question was carried out without coordination with the Ministry of Interior, and therefore two businessmen were detained.
Aceri stated that after the security forces in Sana’a moved to the region, the dead and wounded were taken to hospitals.
