Sony Prepared Cameras for the Visually Impaired

Sony DSC-HX99 RNV point-and-shoot camera model aims to create an image by projecting digital images onto the retina of visually impaired users thanks to its special viewfinder.

Life is very difficult for visually impaired individuals and they cannot benefit from numerous opportunities. One of them is photography. Sony has prepared an innovative point-and-shoot camera for the visually impaired.

Sony DSC-HX99 RNV Features and Price

Sony DSC-HX99 RNV point-and-shoot camera model was developed for the visually impaired. Instead of the familiar viewfinder, there is a viewfinder that projects onto the user’s retina. Developed by Japanese QD Laser, the Retissa Neoviewer viewfinder model projects the digital image directly onto the user’s retina.

Thus, users have the opportunity to choose facial expressions and read signs, as well as take photos. This technology, which is stated to be the first in the world, is unfortunately not compatible with every visually impaired person. It can only cure certain vision problems.

Based on the Cybershot DSC-HX99, the camera uses an 18MP back-illuminated sensor and has integrated image stabilization. There is also a 24-mm-720mm zoom lens. The Sony DSC-HX99 RNV model will be sold at $600.
