SCANDAL DECISION

The case was heard at the European Court of Justice. The court ruled that “in EU countries, employers can prohibit employees from wearing headscarves”. According to the court, an employer can prohibit its employees from wearing a headscarf if a policy of neutrality is enshrined in labor legislation. The European Court of Justice took a similar decision in an application filed in Germany in July and ruled that companies can prohibit their employees from wearing a headscarf under certain conditions.
