S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Hacked: Game Footage Could Be Leaked Any Day Now!

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl developer GSC Game World has announced that they have been hacked. Possible footage from the game may be shared.

Started in 2007, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series is preparing to break the silence since 2009 with its fourth game, Heart of Chernobyl. However, the Ukrainian development team was affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine during this preparation and the game was postponed.

The new news shows that the team did not only escape from the battlefield. The team, which says it has been the victim of cyber attacks since the beginning of the war, shared bad news today.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. team has been hacked:

GSC Game World announced on Twitter that an employee’s account on a photo-based business app had been compromised. The team said the attackers were a community from a Russian social network.

It was emphasized that data was captured for blackmail and threats in the attack. Although it was not explicitly stated what the data in question covered, the team’s warning gave a clue:

“In the event of any leaks about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, we ask that you refrain from viewing or distributing.”

The team stated that by gaining access to the platform on which they work, information and images about the game could also be captured and shared. For the images that may emerge, the team has already made the following statement:

“Old and under-construction material can tarnish the impression of the final idea we’re putting into the game.”
