Peace in the Russia-Ukraine War Will Be Established by Turkey

Turkey, which has been conducting diplomatic traffic with the parties since the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, will this time host negotiations. Delegations of Russia and Ukraine will meet in Istanbul on March 28-30. The Russian delegation will be in Istanbul at 16:00. “We hope that the negotiations will result in a successful outcome,” Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said. “The meeting to be held in Istanbul between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations is important because it will be face-to-face,” the Kremlin said in a statement.

Following Russia’s attacks on Ukraine on February 24, the parties will meet in Istanbul for negotiation talks. The Russian delegation will be in Istanbul at 16:00. It was learned that Russian Deputy Defense Minister Aleksandr Fomin will also take part in the delegation.

Turkey, which maintains its contacts with both countries and is the center of diplomatic traffic, will now be the address of the negotiations. After the parties met three times at the Belarusian border, the talks continued via video conference.

“Russian and Ukrainian delegations will meet in Turkey on March 28-30,” Ukrainian negotiator David Arakhamia said in a statement yesterday.

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russian and Ukrainian delegations will go to Turkey today and said, “Even the decision to start face-to-face talks is important in itself.”

Peskov said talks could begin tomorrow.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, “Face-to-face negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will restart today-tomorrow in Istanbul. We hope that the negotiations will conclude successfully.” said.

ERDOGAN-PUTIN MEETING

After that, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the meeting, the latest situation and negotiation processes in the Russia-Ukraine war were discussed.

President Erdogan and President of Russia Putin agreed that the next meeting of the negotiation teams of Russia and Ukraine will be held in Istanbul.
