Ölüdeniz Air Games Festival Has Started

The 22nd International Ölüdeniz Air Games Festival is held in Fethiye, Mugla, with participants from 48 countries.

The opening ceremony of the festival, which was organized under the leadership of Fethiye Municipality and with the support of non-governmental organizations, was held on the beach of Belcekiz.

In addition to approximately 850 paragliders from 48 countries, the world’s best aerobatic athletes also participated in the organization in Mugla.

Ali Yuksel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK), noted at the opening ceremony that Fethiye has the best aviation destination in the world.

Fethiye Mayor Alim Karaca also stated that they are happy to continue the festival for 22 years apart from the epidemic, and that according to the latest data, the district hosted 1 million 200 thousand tourists between January 1 and September 30.

Emphasizing that most of the hotels reach 100% occupancy during the season, Karaca stated that the density in the facilities will continue until the end of November.

Fethiye District Governor Alper Balci, representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations and citizens attended the ceremony.

At the event, paramotor and sail wing demonstration was performed by the pilots of the Turkish Aeronautical Association. Hundreds of red and white balloons were dropped into the sky by paragliding pilots for peace.

Within the scope of the Ölüdeniz Air Games Festival, which will end on October 23, there will be base jump (free fall), skydiving (sky diving), wingsuit (bat-man flight) and aerobatic shows, and free public flights.

  1. Do you know if the Türk Yıldızlar will perform a display over Çalış Beach this year on the last day of the games as they have done in the past?
    I can’t seem to find any thing advertised. Thanks.
