Neighborhoods Closed to Foreigners in Antalya

The Immigration Administration had closed 1169 neighborhoods in 58 provinces to the residence of foreign nationals. Among these neighborhoods, there are 10 neighborhoods in Antalya. Mustafa Ayanoglu, Member of the ATSO Board of Directors, stated that this arrangement may reduce the rental prices in the said neighborhoods. In addition, it was noted that rental prices may increase in neighboring neighborhoods.

Which Neighborhoods Are Closed?

There are 10 neighborhoods out of 1169 neighborhoods in Antalya that are closed to foreigners. These neighborhoods are; In Konyaalti district; Hurma, Sarisu and Liman neighborhoods are in Alanya; Kargicak, Mahmutlar, Kestel and Avsallar neighborhoods are listed as Topcular neighbourhood in Muratpasa, and AOSB2 and AEOSB3 Departments in Dösemealti. With the decision, foreigners will no longer be allowed to reside in these 10 neighborhoods in Antalya.

Are Foreigners Who Have Previously Obtained a Residence Permit Affected?

Foreigners residing in the relevant settlements before the decision will not be affected by this regulation. After the regulation, foreigners who will apply for a residence permit in the relevant neighborhoods will be able to purchase a property, but will not be able to obtain a residence permit on this property.

Can Foreigners Buying Real Estate Get a Residence Permit?

Foreign nationals who have bought or will buy a house in these neighborhoods will be able to reside for up to 180 days with a tourist visa. Depending on this regulation, rental prices are expected to decrease in neighborhoods. However, there may be an increase in rental prices in neighborhoods that are located around these neighborhoods and are not covered by the regulation.

  1. If I buy property in Alanya, and visitor permit renews once, do I have to sell the property and leave Turkey? I wanted to retire there and become a permanent resident.

  2. Please not publish , Hi Gul, Hope you are doing well, can I ask one question, if a person bought property 3 years ago in Hurma Konyaalti, ( at that time there was no restrictions of trc in these areas) is it possible that owner can apply for short time Residance permits? Thankyou
