Monkeypox Virus Transmitted Sexually!

The monkeypox virus, which continues to spread rapidly in the world, has been seen in 16 countries so far. The World Health Organization, which held a meeting about the virus, announced that the main reason for the spread of the disease was sexual intercourse. The virus, which was first encountered in monkey colonies in Africa in 1958, was first seen outside of Africa when it was detected in the USA in 2003. The monkeypox virus, which was seen in England for the first time after a long time, was seen for the first time outside of Africa. In the last 2 weeks, it has spread to 16 countries outside of Africa.

Fever and Rash Symptoms

Monkeypox virus, which is rare outside of Africa, has become the main agenda of the world, spreading to more and more countries every day. It is stated that the number of people infected with the Monkeypox virus, which is defined as a viral infection in West and Central African countries, exceeds 100 in Europe, the USA and Australia. Monkey pox, known as one of the rare diseases caused by an endemic virus, is divided into two as Congo and West African species. It is known that the Congo strain of the virus has a mortality risk of up to 10 percent, while the West African strain has a mortality rate of 1 percent in one of every 2 cases. It is stated that the most common symptoms of the disease are high fever, back muscle pains and rashes that start first on the face and then spread to other parts of the body.

Spread Cause Sexual Intercourse

It is stated that the infection, which is estimated to be transmitted through close contact, lasts between 14 and 21 days. The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that a total of 131 cases of monkeypox virus were detected. However, WHO officials announced that research so far has shown that the main reason for the spread of the disease is sexual intercourse. However, experts warned that the virus is stable outside of the human body and can survive on items such as blankets and clothing. On the other hand, WHO experts noted that although the virus itself is not usually a sexually transmitted infection that spreads through semen and vaginal fluids, the latest increase in cases is among men who have sex with other men. He emphasized that it looks and can infect anyone.
