The hospital was opened in 1950 as a Police Prevantorium. In 1969, Police Hygiene and Dietetic Health Center was transformed into a 200-bed hospital with the approvals of the Ministry of Health and Social Assistance. It was named as Police Hospital in 1978. The main building, whose construction started in 1980, was officially opened only for professionals on 1985. There were police officers in all administrative units of the hospital and health personnel from the General Directorate of Security in the medical units. In the kindergarten located on the ground floor of the old hospital building, the preschool children of the staff were given care and education services. The hospital, which was modernized with the contributions of the Police Hospital Construction and Sustenance Association, hosted many meetings, trainings, seminars and symposiums after the conference hall became Üsküdar Public Hospital. The General Directorate of Security, Istanbul Police Hospital was transferred to the Ministry of Health and renamed Istanbul Üsküdar State Hospital in 2005.

Get off at Marmaray in Üsküdar and transfer to Üsküdar-Çekmeköy metro. You can get off at the Bağlarbaşı stop of the metro and reach Üsküdar State Hospital with a 5-minute walk.
If you are coming from Büyükçekmece, Beylikdüzü, Avcılar, Küçükçekmece, Bahçelievler, Mecidiyeköy, get off at Altunizade station from any Metrobus station and transfer to Üsküdar-Çekmeköy metro. You can get off at the Bağlarbaşı stop of the metro and reach Üsküdar Public Hospital with a 5-minute walk.
If you are coming from Bağcılar or Güngören, take the Kabataş-Bağcılar tram line at Zeytinburnu and transfer to the Metrobus. Take the 34AS by metrobus and get off at Altunizade station and transfer to Üsküdar-Çekmeköy metro.
