The Public Hospital, which was built in the center of Menemen in 1961 with the contributions of the people of the district, started to serve with 35 beds and was enlarged over time and served with 75 beds until the end of 2004. In January 2005, the hospital moved to its new building on the Menemen – Manisa highway. The hospital, which started service with 100 beds in an indoor area of 8.100 m2 on an area of approximately 35.000 m2, increased the number of beds to 122 in the middle of 2006 due to the need. Later on, it reached 203 bed capacity with the B block, which was put into service in 2009, depending on the need. The hospital has a total bed capacity of 213, including 14-bed 2nd Stage 2nd Level Intensive Care and 10-bed Palliative Care Services. All rooms of the hospital have been turned into qualified rooms and it has been provided to serve with a more contemporary understanding. The number of inpatients is approximately 15,000 per year. While the hospital provides service in a closed area of 19406m2 in 5 blocks on its own land and a dental unit in the center of Menemen, as of December 2014, the dental unit serving in the district center was separated from the hospital and transformed into Menemen Oral and Dental Health Center. With the opening of the new additional polyclinic building in 2008, a higher quality service was offered to the people in order to meet the intensive patient applications and to implement the “Right to Choose Physician”. By providing a polyclinic room for each physician, the practice of choosing a physician started efficiently. The operating room consists of 6 surgeries and 1 small intervention room, which are ventilated with the Hepa filter system and equipped with modern devices. All materials are sterilized in the Central Sterilization Unit in order to provide the best service. Approximately 8200 patients are operated annually in the operating room.Experienced specialist physicians work in the polyclinics of the hospital, which continues its service as a Secondary Healthcare Institution. The number of patients examined in polyclinics is approximately 600,000 per year.
