The hospital was opened as Bornova Emergency Aid and Traumatology Hospital in 1996. In order to meet the demand in 2001, the outpatient clinic additional building was built. On December 16, 2009, it was transformed into a general hospital and named Bornova Türkan Özilhan Public Hospital. The construction of the hospital, which was decided to be renewed in order to provide reliable, comfortable and highest quality health service to the people of Bornova and the region, started on June 6, 2014. While the construction of the hospital was continuing, service continued for a total of 19 months (February 2015 – September 2016) in the barracks polyclinic, which was established without interrupting the polyclinic service. It was received from the construction company on March 22, 2017 and started to operate with a polyclinic service on April 10, 2017. The indoor area of the hospital, where physical facilities have been transformed into a quality and comfortable health facility, has been increased from 6 thousand 717 square meters to 38 thousand 200 square meters, and the capacity of beds has been increased from 74 to 210 with its renovated state. The hospital, which is made comfortable for both the patient and the attendant, offers health services as a digital hospital with a total of 210 bed capacity consisting of 6 blocks and a modern building with a three-leaf clover appearance. It has a total of 174 clinic beds. Each service consists of single and double rooms with 24 beds and has started to serve its patients since March 30, 2017. 58 polyclinic rooms, whose medical and physical equipment have been modernized in terms of employees and patients, have been providing health services since April 10, 2017. There are a total of 19 in-bed adult intensive care units, including 11-bed general intensive care, 8-bed internal medicine-cardiology intensive care.
