IGA Istanbul Airport was officially entitled to host Routes World in 2023 with the cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Promotion, and Turkish Airlines.
According to the news in Hürriyet newspaper; Considered one of the most prestigious events in the international aviation industry, Routes provides a meeting place for airlines, airports and destinations to plan and negotiate their future services. Routes World 2023 stands out as the first full-scale Routes World event in the coronavirus process. The introductory meeting of the Routes World organization, which will be held in 2023 on the centennial of the Republic, was held at Istanbul Airport yesterday.
GLOBAL TRANSFER CENTER
Saying that being chosen as the host of the event is a source of pride for both İGA Istanbul Airport and Turkish aviation, İGA Istanbul Airport CEO Kadri Samsunlu said, “We are happy to host the Routes World 2023 event, worthy of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of our Republic. With Routes World, which brings together thousands of aviation representatives from all over the world every year and shares the views of aviation authorities, nearly 4 thousand global senior aviation industry executives will visit our city in 2023. We look forward to strengthening the position of IGA Istanbul Airport as a global hub and demonstrating this great potential of our country with this important meeting, which will reveal Istanbul’s history, culture, hidden gems and its potential to be the focal point of foreign tourists.”

Turkish Airlines General Manager (CEO) Bilal Ekşi said, “As Turkish Airlines, we are happy to host the Routes World 2023 event, which will take place on the centennial of our Republic. The Routes World 2023 event, which will add value to our home base Istanbul’s unique geographical location and significant potential in world tourism, will be an important host for us.” Turkey Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) General Manager Yalçın Lokmanhekim said, “The positive contribution of such an important organization to the promotion of Istanbul and therefore of Turkey will never be possible for Routes World 2023, one of the largest organizations in the world to be hosted by IGA Istanbul Airport. Undoubtedly, it will be huge,” he said.
