Gunnucek National Park

It was declared a National Park in 1996. The area of this natural wonder national park is 29,206 hectares. Among the locals, the sweetgum tree is called the Gunnuk Tree and the park takes its name from these trees. Gunnucek National Park is a separate natural wonder with its unique forest and vegetation. Gunnuk, or Sweetgum Tree, is an endemic tree species unique to the region. Sweetgum trees are seen in coastal areas. Generally, tree leaves are used in perfumes and medicines.

Of course, since it is a national park, Gunnuk trees here are under protection. The fact that the park is in a very important position as it has both beach and forest walking areas has brought the necessity of the protection of this beauty and therefore it has been thought to be a national park. Frigana and its pre-herbaceous plants, maquis and red pine forests have great ecological importance. There are wild boars, squirrels, wild donkeys, cats and 50 different species of birds in this 300-decare park. In addition, with 106 invertebrate species, 34 fish species, 32 reptile species, 37 mammal species and 7 amphibian species survive.

There are wooden walking areas, pond, picnic and camping areas, monumental trees in the park. You will get away from all your stress in Marmaris Gunnucek National Park, where you will be dying for cycling, hiking and doing sports. Make sure to take your camera with you. Transportation:

It is located in Marmaris, the beautiful holiday resort of Muğla, which is the transition point between the Aegean region and the Mediterranean Region. It is 60 kilometers from Mugla city center and 2 kilometers from Marmaris city center.

If you have a private vehicle, when you go down the hill to Marmaris,  turn left at the first light you encounter and continue for 2 km. When you pass Marmaris Adventure Park, you will see it on your right. The closest airport to come to Marmaris is Dalaman Airport. HAVAS and Muttas shuttles depart from Dalaman Airport to Marmaris. All airport shuttles use Marmaris bus terminal as the last stop. You can take a taxi from Marmaris bus station. Also, the Yalanci Bogaz Minibuses pass in front of Marmaris Gunnucek National Park. You can also reach by using these minibuses.
