The phenomenon Bulut Altug, known as ‘Gaga Bulut’, was detained on charges of opening a channel in the social media application Telegram and sharing videos with sexual content, and blackmailing the people in the videos for money to remove the images. During the searches made at Altuğ’s house, 500 thousand lira worth of gold and cash, which were determined to be obtained from crime, were seized.
Izmir Provincial Police Department Anti-Cyber Crime Branch teams followed the Instagram user “iamgagabulut”, who disrupted the general morality of the society with the posts he made on social media. Continuing their work, the teams determined that the social media phenomenon Bulut Altug, known by the nickname ‘Gaga Bulut’ in the public, opened a channel through the social media application Telegram and shared sexually explicit videos, and blackmailed the people in the images they obtained to remove the images.

Police teams made an operation to the address of the suspect today for the crimes of Unlawful Giving or Capturing Personal Data, Blackmail. While Bulut Altug, nicknamed Gaga Bulut, was detained by police teams, approximately 500 thousand lira worth of gold and money were seized in a steel safe during the searches made at the address.

On the other hand, Bulut Altug was sentenced to 17 years in prison in the case in which he was tried in October 2018 for publishing the video in which he made two boys kiss by giving 100 liras to their social media accounts, and was later released.
