Free Speech and Internet Provided to People in the Earthquake Zone, Bill Debts Closed

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 occurred in the Pazarcik district of Kahramanmaras. The earthquake caused destruction in 10 provinces, including Kahramanmaraş. The Ministry of Transport announced that free speech and internet were installed for uninterrupted communication. Lines that were closed due to debt were also opened.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Omer Fatih Sayan said, “Our operators have been instructed to ensure uninterrupted communication for our citizens in the earthquake zone. Free speech and internet have been installed for all our citizens in the region. All mobile, internet and fixed lines, which were closed due to debt, were also opened for calls. At the same time, all payphones in the region were opened. “You can also provide free communication over phones. Let’s help you to avoid any interruption in the communication part of search and rescue efforts. Let’s make calls with web-based applications and use SMS.”

Aid and supplies were sent to earthquake zones from many cities of Turkey.
