Following the death of Mahsa Amini in Iran, the first death penalty decision was made in the demonstrations. Iran’s Judicial Authority announced that 1 out of 6 people who participated in the protests were sentenced to death.

The first death sentence was given in the demonstrations that started after the death of Mahsa Amini in Iran. Iran’s Judicial Authority announced that one of the demonstrators who participated in the Amini protests in the capital Tehran was given the death penalty.

Death Penalty for 1 Person

Stating that the Tehran Revolutionary Court gave a fair and quick decision on 6 demonstrators upon the instruction of Iranian Judicial President Gulamhuseyin Muhsin Ejei, 1 of the 6 people arrested on charges of disrupting public security and waging war on the state was sentenced to death. The other 5 demonstrators were given 5 to 10 years. reportedly sentenced to prison.

DECISION CAN BE OBJECTED

It was stated that the demonstrator, who was sentenced to death, was arrested on charges of burning the government building and arson. It was announced that the sentences given by the Revolutionary Court could be appealed.

The death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who was taken to hospital after being taken into custody on September 13 in Tehran, the capital of Iran, on September 16, caused an uproar in the country.
