Facebook has Opened a Cafe in Turkey!

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, opened a cafe in Datca in Turkey for the first time after the United Kingdom. The pop-up cafe named Meta Cafe, which was brought to life by social media company Meta in cooperation with Datca Municipality, started to serve. The project was realized in Turkey for the first time after the United Kingdom. Established in Datca Port as part of the project, Meta Cafe will be open to visitors between 18-25 August. The aim is to raise the awareness of older social media users about digital media literacy.

The pop-up cafe named Meta Cafe, which Meta was established in cooperation with Datca Municipality in order to raise the awareness of senior social media users about digital media literacy, was put into service with the opening ceremony.

OLD SOCIAL MEDIA USERS CAN GET TRAINING

Established in Datca Harbor, Meta Cafe will be open to visitors between 18-25 August. It has been stated that older social media users will be able to receive free tea/coffee at Meta Cafe on these dates, and receive training on digital media literacy by the instructors in charge.

Meta Turkey and Azerbaijan Public Policy Manager Sezen Yesil and Datca Mayor Abdullah Gursel Ucar made statements about the Meta Cafe project, which was implemented for the first time in Turkey. While Yesil noted that they took a new step to increase Turkey’s digital media literacy with the Meta Cafe project, Abdullah Gursel Ucar said that they were pleased to support this campaign.

It was stated that within the scope of the Online Digital Media Literacy Program, the trainings given on WhatsApp can be accessed via the link or by scanning the QR code.
