Elon Musk Is Hiring Staff For Twitter

Social media had 7,500 employees when it bought Twitter for $44 billion. Having laid off 75 percent of its employees, Musk is now preparing for new hires.

After acquiring Twitter, Elon Musk fired two-thirds of employees on the social media platform in just three weeks. During this period, Twitter, which had approximately 7,500 employees, had a workforce of only 2,700. But it seems that Elon Musk now wants to start hiring again.

Twitter will Start Recruiting Again

According to The Verge, in a comprehensive meeting attended by Twitter employees a short time ago, Musk stated that Twitter’s layoff process has ended. That said, Twitter will reportedly be actively recruiting for engineering and sales roles and seeking advice from employees. As you know, after Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, almost the entire executive class was dismissed, and slowdowns were observed in the platform from time to time with mass layoffs.

Twitter currently has not listed an open role for engineering and sales roles, but that could change at any time. On the other hand, during the meeting, it is reported that Musk said that talented people in the software field will be preferred primarily. Earlier reports on the subject reveal that Twitter’s HR staff reached out to some engineers and asked them to join “Twitter 2.0 – an Elon company.”

Elon Musk also states that there will be many mistakes in this restructuring process, but Twitter will stabilize over time. On the other hand, it was stated during the meeting that important parts of Twitter’s technological infrastructure should be created from scratch and that engineering teams would be established in India, Indonesia and Brazil, thus ‘decentralizing’ Twitter. It seems that Elon Musk is trying to completely rebuild Twitter and make it similar in structure to other companies he has founded.
