Critical Summit Between Turkey and Spain Started

The 7th Turkey-Spain Intergovernmental Summit started under the chairmanship of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

Before the summit, which was closed to the press, a family photo was taken with President Erdoğan and Sanchez at the Presidential Complex with the participation of the relevant ministers. The summit then started under the chairmanship of Erdoğan and Sanchez.

In the Turkish delegation, Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Dönmez, Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu, Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli, President of Defense Industries İsmail Demir and Turkey’s Ambassador to Madrid Burak Akçapar.

The first meeting of the Turkey-Spain Intergovernmental Summit was held on 5 April 2009 in Istanbul. The last summit between the two countries was held on April 24, 2018 in Madrid.
