Could there be a connection between the Earth’s rotation speed and earthquakes?

A 2017 study in the journal “Advancing Earth And Space Science”, one of the publications of the American Geophysical Union, claims that there is a link between the Earth’s rotational speed and earthquakes.
The research, led by University of Montana professor Bendick Roger Bilham, examined 7 and greater earthquakes that occurred between 1900 and 2017.
The Earth completes its rotation in 24 hours, but events such as weather events, large earthquakes, the movement of the Earth’s liquid outer core can cause this time to change.
Researches made; showed that changes in the Earth’s rotation speed are most pronounced in parallel, when major earthquakes are at their strongest.
In short; The Earth informs the earthquake by changing its rotation speed before major earthquakes. While this study does not allow for precise prediction of major earthquakes, it shows that we can get an idea of when they will happen.
