Cholera Nightmare! The Epidemic Spread to 26 Countries
While the world continues its struggle with the coronavirus, which caused the death of more than 6 million people, without slowing down, the cholera epidemic that caused the death of 1002 people in Malawi continues its silent course. According to the data of the World Health Organization (WHO), while the number of countries with cholera cases worldwide from 2017 to 2021 was less than 20, cholera epidemics were seen in only 26 countries in 2022.
The number of people who lost their lives due to the cholera epidemic in Malawi is increasing rapidly. According to the data of the Malawi Ministry of Health, 12 people died in the last 24 hours in the cholera epidemic that broke out in March 2022 and 626 new cases were detected.

In the country where approximately 20 million people live, the total number of cases increased to 29 thousand 995, while the number of people who lost their lives was 1002. Health Minister Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda urged the public to pay attention to hygiene rules and use clean water.
