Albania Bought 3 Bayraktar SİHAs From Turkey

Albania signed an agreement for the purchase of 3 Bayraktar TB2 SİHAs. While Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama made a statement regarding the agreement, “We all know that when it comes to Bayraktar UAVs, it is not enough to just have money. We are proud to be on the same side as Turkey.”

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that Turkish-made Bayraktar SİHAs will be ready to be used against threats to the national security of the country, but will also be used to assist the police in normal times. Rama noted that the TB2s will be used in areas such as surveillance of Albanian territory, detection of hemp fields and monitoring forest fires.

Speaking at the signing ceremony in the capital Tirana, where Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar also attended, Rama said that they never wanted to use SİHAs in a war, but that SİHAs would be “armed and ready for combat against any situation”. Rama said, “We all know that when it comes to Bayraktar UAVs, it is not enough to just have money. It is necessary to be talented and most importantly to be on the right side in the procurement process. We are proud to be by your side. We are on the same side and strategic partner as the Republic of Turkey and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. ” .

The Albanian Prime Minister did not provide information on the delivery date or whether there will be additional orders. About 30 people will be trained to use the TB2s. Albania, which became a NATO member in 2009, has no warplanes.

NUMBER OF EXPORTS TO 27 COUNTRIES

In the statement made by Baykar, it was stated that with the SİHA export contract signed with Albania, the number of countries to which TB2 SİHAs will be exported has reached 27. Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar also announced that a Science Center will be established for support. In his post on his Twitter account, he touched upon the technology development journey of Albanian youth.
